About

WELCOME

May I personally welcome you to the Yorkshire Gynaecology website. I aim to provide a first-class private healthcare service covering a wide range of gynaecological conditions.

Biography

After graduating from The University of Dundee (MBChB) in 1983, I decided to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I became a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2001. After spending nearly 10 years in both clinical and academic posts in London (King's College Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital) my family and I moved to Leeds in 1993. I started work at St James's University Hospital and now currently work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

I specialise in general gynaecological surgery with specific interest in menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and some urogynaecology. I perform laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries including hysterectomy and hysteroscopic procedures under local and general anaesthetic. I also carry out surgeries for prolapse and incontinence.

Between 2015-2018 I was lead clinician for gynaecology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

have an active private practice based at Spire Leeds Hospital and Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. I am referred patients from across the Yorkshire region and many of these are due to recommendations from previous patients.

I also carry out medico-legal work and am a member of the Society of Expert Witnesses.

In my spare time I like to maintain an active lifestyle and greatly enjoy the outdoors, be that on the golf course, sailing or making sure the dogs get plenty of exercise.

I look forward to our initial consultation,
